Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him with the army of Dhat al-Salasil. He said: I said: "Who among people is most beloved to you?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Aishah." I said: "From among the men?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Her father." I said: "Then who?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) named several men.
(b) It is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Do you not love whom I love?" Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Certainly." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then love this one," meaning Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). And he said to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): "Do not hurt me concerning Aishah, for by Allah, revelation has never come down to me while I was under the cover of any of you wives except her." And Adi bin Ka'b was the brother of Murrah bin Ka'b.
