وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَصَمُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، ثنا أَبُو يُونُسَ الْقَوِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: اسْتُودِعْتُ مَالًا، فَوَضَعْتُهُ مَعَ مَالِي، فَهَلَكَ مِنْ بَيْنِ مَالِي، فَرُفِعْتُ إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّكَ لَأَمِينٌ فِي نَفْسِي، وَلَكِنْ هَلَكَتْ مِنْ بَيْنِ مَالِكِ "، فَضَمَنْتُهُ.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Some wealth was deposited with me, and I put it together with my own wealth, but it perished from among my wealth. I was brought before Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: In my view you are trustworthy, but it perished from among your wealth. So I paid compensation for it.
