وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، أنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا رَوْحٌ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ: " أَلَا إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي أَوَّلِ سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ فِي بَيَانِ الْفَرَائِضِ أَنْزَلَهَا اللهُ فِي الْوَلَدِ وَالْوَالِدِ، وَالْآيَةَ الثَّانِيَةَ مِنْ سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ أَنْزَلَهَا اللهُ فِي الزَّوْجِ وَالزَّوْجَةِ وَالْإِخْوَةِ مِنَ الْأُمِّ، وَالْآيَةَ الَّتِي خَتَمَ بِهَا سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ أَنْزَلَهَا اللهُ فِي الْإِخْوَةِ مِنَ الْأُمِّ وَالْأَبِ ".
Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) related that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said in his sermon: "Indeed, this verse at the beginning of Surah al-Nisa concerning the inheritance shares, Allah revealed it about children and parents; and the second verse in Surah al-Nisa, Allah Almighty revealed it about the husband and wife and uterine brothers; and the verse at the end of Surah al-Nisa, Allah Almighty revealed it about full brothers."
