Bayhaqi 12321 — Those who gave the brother's son nothing along
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا يَحْيَى، أنا يَزِيدُ، أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ: حُدِّثْتُ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ " كَانَ يُنْزِلُ بَنِي الْأَخِ مَعَ الْجَدِّ مَنَازِلَ آبَائِهِمْ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُهُ غَيْرَهُ ".
Al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I was told that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to place the brother's sons, alongside the grandfather, in the positions of their fathers, and none of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) other than him used to do so.
