أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ، أنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ: " أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَخْبَرُونِي أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ كَانَ مِنَ الرَّاسِخِينَ فِي الْعِلْمِ ".
Masruq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I came to Madinah and asked about the Companions of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and they told me that Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those firmly grounded in knowledge.
