أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْخَلِيلِ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنِ الْفَرَائِضِ، قَالَ: " إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَعْلَمَهَا فَأَمِتْ جِيرَانَكَ، وَوَرِّثَ بَعْضَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ ".
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: I asked Alqamah (may Allah have mercy on him) about the fara'id (laws of inheritance), and he said: When you intend to learn it, then make your neighbour die (in your mind) and divide his inheritance.
