قَالَ: وَثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أنا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: كَتَبَ عُمَرُ: " إِذَا لَهَوْتُمْ فَالْهُوا بِالرَّمْيِ، وَإِذَا تَحَدَّثْتُمْ فَتَحَدَّثُوا بِالْفَرَائِضِ ".
Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote: When you play, then play at archery, and when you converse, then talk about the fara'id (laws of inheritance).
