أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، وَأنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ مُوَرِّقٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ: " تَعَلَّمُوا الْفَرَائِضَ وَاللَّحْنَ وَالسُّنَّةَ كَمَا تَعَلَّمُونَ الْقُرْآنَ ".
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Learn the fara'id (laws of inheritance), al-lahn (correct Arabic usage) and the Sunnah just as you learn the Qur'an."
