أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ ⦗٣١٩⦘ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ غَفَلَةَ قَالَ: كُنَّا حُجَّاجًا فَوَجَدْتُ سَوْطًا، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ دُونَ تَسْمِيَةِ زَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ وَسَلْمَانَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، وَقَالَ فِي آخِرِهِ: فَقُلْتُ: قَدْ عَرَّفْتُهَا، فَقَالَ: " انْتَفِعْ بِهَا، وَاحْفَظْ وِعَاءَهَا وَخِرْقَتَهَا، وَأَحْصِ عَدَدَهَا " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ قُتَيْبَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ.
It is reported from Suwayd bin Ghafalah (may Allah have mercy on him): We were performing Hajj and I found a whip, then he mentioned the hadith, without naming Zayd bin Suhan and Salman bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and at the end he said: I announced it, and he said: "Make use of it, and remember its container and its tie, and count its number."
