وَقَدْ كَتَبْنَاهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُسَدَّدٍ عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَوْفٌ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ، فَذَكَرَهُ. أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ فَذَكَرَهُ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The boundary zone of a well is forty cubits on all its sides, for the resting places of camels and sheep; the wayfarer is the first to drink; and excess water is not to be withheld in order thereby to withhold the pasture."
