It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah on the day of the Conquest, and there were 360 idols set up at the House of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) began to strike them down with a stick that was in his (peace and blessings be upon him) hand, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: "The truth has come, and falsehood can neither originate anything nor restore anything [Surah Saba: 49], and: The truth has come and falsehood has perished; indeed, falsehood is ever bound to perish [Surah al-Isra: 81]."
