وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْكِيسَانِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ أُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ مُفَضَّضٍ لِيَشْرَبَ مِنْهُ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَشْرَبَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ مُنْذُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ، لَمْ يَشْرَبْ فِي الْقَدَحِ الْمُفَضَّضِ ". وَرُوِيَ فِي ذَلِكَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a cup plated with silver was brought to him so that he might drink from it, but he refused to drink from it. I asked him (about it), and he said: Ever since Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) "forbade drinking from vessels of gold and silver", he has not drunk from a vessel fitted with silver.
