أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْعُمَرِيُّ، ثنا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، أنبأ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الضُّبَعِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مِمَّ أَضْرِبُ مِنْهُ يَتِيمِي؟ فَقَالَ: " مِمَّا كُنْتَ ضَارِبًا وَلَدَكَ، غَيْرَ وَاقٍ مَالَكَ بِمَالِهِ، وَلَا مُتَأَثِّلٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ مَالًا ". كَذَا رَوَاهُ، وَالْمَحْفُوظُ مَا:.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! For what may I strike the orphan in my care?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For whatever you would strike your own children, you may strike the orphan too; do not protect your own wealth by means of the orphan's wealth, and do not increase your own wealth by means of his wealth."
