Imam al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) was travelling on his camel; it became exhausted, so Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) intended to let it go. He says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) caught up with me from behind; he (peace and blessings be upon him) struck it and supplicated for it, and it went as it had never gone before. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sell it to me for one uqiyah." I said: No. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sell it to me for one uqiyah." Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I sold it, but excepted riding it to my home. When I reached home, I brought the camel. He (peace and blessings be upon him) paid me its price in cash. I went back, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent someone after me: "I did not bargain with you in order to take your camel; take your camel and the price, both are yours."
