أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ جَنَاحُ بْنُ نُذَيْرِ بْنِ جَنَاحٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ، أنا أَبُو جَعْفَرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ دُحَيْمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرَزَةَ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَشْتَرِي الْأَوْسَاقَ فَأَجِيءُ بِهَا إِلَى سُوقِ كَذَا فَيَأْخُذُونَهَا مِنِّي كَيْلًا وَيُرْبِحُونَنِي فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " إِذَا ابْتَعْتَ كَيْلًا فَاكْتَلْ وَإِذَا بِعْتَ كَيْلًا فَكِلْ " وَرُوِي عَنْ مُنْقِذٍ مَوْلَى سُرَاقَةَ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ.
Sa'id bin al-Musayyab (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I would buy several wasqs and bring them to the market; they would take them from me by measure and give me a profit. I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you buy something by measure, measure it yourself, and when you sell, give it by measure."
