باب: سبب نزول قول الله تبارك وتعالى وليس البر بأن تأتوا البيوت من ظهورها ولكن البر من اتقى وأتوا البيوت من أبوابها

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبِسْطَامِيُّ الْأَدِيبُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ، أنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، أنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ، يَقُولُ: " كَانَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ إِذَا حَجُّوا فَجَاءُوا لَا يَدْخُلُونَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ بُيُوتِهِمْ وَلَكِنْ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَدَخَلَ مِنْ قِبَلِ بَابِهِ، فَكَأَنَّهُ عُيِّرَ بِذَلِكَ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {وَلَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِأَنْ تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا وَلَكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنِ اتَّقَى وَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا} [البقرة: ١٨٩] "، رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ.
Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Ansar returned from Hajj, they would not enter their houses through their doors, but would come in from the back. A man of the Ansar came and entered through the door of his house, and he was reproached for it. Then this verse was revealed: "It is not righteousness that you enter houses from their backs, but righteousness is (in) one who fears Allah. And enter houses through their doors." [Surah al-Baqarah: 189]
