Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be a people in my Ummah after me who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go below their throats (i.e., they will be without action), they will go out of the religion just as an arrow goes out of the bow, and they will not return to the religion again. They are the worst of all creation."
Sulaiman said: Humaid said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then I met Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Amr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him), the brother of Hakam bin Amr al-Ghifari, and narrated this hadith. Sayyiduna Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: And I too heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2470)
From this authentic hadith, the prophecy of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) has been proven word for word, and it was during the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphate (khilafah rashidah) that such irreligious people emerged who left the religion, and they are the group of the Khawarij. Even today, there are many people who recite the Qur'an, but it does not go beyond their throats.
They are people without practice, without religion, and Muslims only in name.
«أُوْلٰئِكَكَالْأَنْعَامِبَلْهُمْأَضَلُّ» Indeed, such people are the worst of all creation.
«اَللّٰهُمَّاهْدِضَالَّالْمُسْلِمِيْنَ» May Allah the Exalted grant guidance to such misguided people.
