حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ، قَالَ: "احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَحْيِ جَمَلٍ، وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done at Lahy Jamal while he was in the state of Ihram.
Brief Explanation

Luhy Jamal is the name of a place which is situated between Makkah and Madinah. It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari that the cupping (hijama) which the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had performed on his blessed head was done at this place. From this, it is understood that in case of necessity, a person in the state of ihram may have cupping performed. The prevalent surgical procedures can also, in cases of severe necessity, be analogized to this.
