أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَسْجُدُ فِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، أَرَاكَ تَسْجُدُ فِي إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ، فَقَالَ: "لَوْ لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَجَدَ فِيهَا، لَمْ أَسْجُدْ".
Sayyiduna Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) prostrating in «إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ» [سورة الانشقاق 1/84], so I asked: O Abu Hurairah! What is this, I see you prostrating in «إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ»? He replied: If I had not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrating in it, I would never have prostrated either.
