Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1466)
Sleeping before the ‘Isha prayer is disliked (makruh), and speaking after ‘Isha is prohibited except for matters of Qur’an and Hadith, revision and recitation, remembrance (dhikr) and supplications, and necessary conversation with one’s wife, family, or guests. Wasting time in unnecessary talk is forbidden. Sleeping early and waking up early is beneficial for health and advantageous from a Shar‘i (Islamic legal) perspective. Those who waste time on TV, VCR, watching films, and listening to music and songs should reflect upon this hadith. «هدانا اللّٰه وإياهم» Ameen.
