«أشد الناس بلاء الأنبياء ثم الصالحون لقد كان أحدهم يبتلى بالفقر حتى ما يجد إلا العباءة يجوبها فيلبسها ويبتلى بالقمل حتى يقتله ولأحدهم كان أشد فرحا بالبلاء من أحدكم بالعطاء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The people with the severest trials are the Prophets, then the righteous. Indeed, one of them would be tried with poverty to such an extent that he would find nothing but a woollen cloak, so he would cut it open and wear it; and they would be tried with lice until they killed him. And each of them was more pleased with trial than any of you is when he receives wealth."
