«يقال للرجل من أهل النار يوم القيامة: أرأيت لو كان لك ما على الأرض من شيء أكنت مفتديا به؟ فيقول: نعم؟ فيقول الله: كذبت قد أردت منك أهون من ذلك قد أخذت عليك في ظهر آدم أن لا تشرك بي شيئا فأبيت إلا أن تشرك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the Day of Resurrection it will be said to a man from the people of Hell: Tell me, if you had everything on the earth, would you give it as a ransom (for your deliverance)? He will say: Yes. Then Allah Almighty will say: You have lied. I asked of you something easier than that. I took a covenant from you while you were in the loins of Adam (peace be upon him) that you would not associate anything with Me, but you refused to do anything but associate partners with Me."
