«يدرس الإسلام كما يدرس وشي الثوب حتى لا يدري ما صيام؟ ولا صلاة ولا نسك ولا صدقة ويسرى على كتاب الله في ليلة فلا يبقى في الأرض منه آية وتبقى طوائف من الناس الشيخ الكبير والعجوز يقولون: أدركنا آباءنا على هذه الكلمة يقولون: لا إله إلا الله فنحن نقولها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Islam will fade away just as the embroidery of a garment fades, until people will not even know what fasting is, what prayer is, what Hajj is and what charity is. And the Book of Allah will be taken away in a single night, so that not a single verse of it will remain on the earth. Some groups of people will remain, old men and old women, who will say: 'We found our forefathers upon this word; they used to say 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no true deity except Allah), so we say it too.'"
