«يخرج فيكم قوم تحقرون صلاتكم مع صلاتهم وصيامكم مع صيامهم وعملكم مع عملهم يقرءون القرآن لا يجأوز حناجرهم يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية ينظر الرامي في النصل فلا يرى شيئا وينظر في القدح فلا يرى شيئا وينظر في الريش فلا يرى شيئا ويتمارى في الفوق هل علق به من الدم شيء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Some people will emerge among you such that you will consider your prayer insignificant compared to their prayer, your fasting compared to their fasting and your deeds compared to their deeds. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the game, and it passes out so cleanly that the archer looks at the arrowhead and sees nothing, looks at its shaft and sees nothing, looks at its feathers and sees nothing, and looks doubtfully at its notch to see whether any trace of blood has clung to it."
