" يا بلال! بم سبقتني إلى الجنة؟ ما دخلت الجنة قط إلا سمعت خشخشتك أمامي إني دخلت البارحة الجنة فسمعت خشخشتك أمامي فأتيت على قصر مربع مشرف من ذهب فقلت: لمن هذا القصر؟ قالوا: لرجل من قريش فقلت: أنا قرشي لمن هذا القصر؟ قالوا لرجل من أمة محمد فقلت: أنا محمد لمن هذا القصر؟ قالوا: لعمر بن الخطاب "
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Bilal! By what deed did you get ahead of me into Paradise? Whenever I entered Paradise, I heard the sound of your sandals ahead of me. Last night I entered Paradise and heard the sound of your sandals ahead of me. Then I came to a square, lofty palace of gold, and I asked: 'Whose palace is this?' It was said: 'A man of Quraysh.' I said: 'I am a Qurashi; whose palace is this?' It was said: 'A man from the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).' I said: 'I am Muhammad; whose palace is this?' It was said: 'Umar bin al-Khattab's.'"
