«إذا كان جنح الليل فكفوا صبيانكم فإن الشياطين تنتشر حينئذ فإذا ذهب ساعة من الليل فخلوهم وأغلقوا الأبواب واذكروا اسم الله فإن الشيطان لا يفتح بابا مغلقا، وأوكئوا قربكم واذكروا اسم الله وخمروا آنيتكم واذكروا اسم الله ولو أن تعرضوا عليه شيئا وأطفئوا مصابيحكم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When the first darkness of night begins to fall, keep your children (from going out), for the devils spread out at that time. Then when an hour of the night has passed, let them go. Close the doors and mention the name of Allah, for the devil does not open a closed door. Tie up the mouths of your waterskins and mention the name of Allah, and cover your vessels and mention the name of Allah, even if you only place something across them, and put out your lamps."
