«لا هجرة ولكن جهاد ونية وإذا استنفرتم فانفروا فإن هذا بلد حرمه الله يوم خلق السموات والأرض وهو حرام بحرمة الله إلى يوم القيامة وإنه لم يحل القتال فيه لأحد قبلي ولا يحل لي إلا ساعة من نهار فهو حرام بحرمة الله إلى يوم القيامة لا يعضد شوكه ولا ينفر صيده ولا يلتقط لقطته إلا من عرفها ولا يختلى خلاها إلا الإذخر»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There is no emigration (hijrah), but jihad and intention remain. And when you are called to go forth, then go forth. Indeed, Allah made this city (Makkah) sacred on the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Fighting in it was not made lawful for anyone before me, nor was it made lawful for me except for an hour of a day. So it is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection: its thorns are not to be cut, its game is not to be startled, its lost property is not to be picked up by anyone except one who announces it, and its fresh grass is not to be cut, except the idhkhir."
