«لا تنكح الأيم حتى تستأمر ولا تنكح البكر حتى تستأذن قيل: وكيف إذنها؟ قال: أن تسكت»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A widow is not to be married until she is consulted, and a virgin is not to be married until her permission is sought." It was said: "How will her permission be known?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"By her remaining silent."
