«لا تقطع اليد في تمر معلق فإن ضمه الجرين قطعت في ثمن المجن ولا تقطع في حريسة الجبل فإذا أوى المراح قطعت في ثمن المجن»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The hand is not cut off for hanging dates; but if they have been gathered into the drying-floor, the hand is cut off for theft worth the price of a shield. And the hand is not cut off for an animal grazing unguarded on the mountain; but when it has come into the pen, the hand is cut off for theft worth the price of a shield."
