«أتاني جبريل فقال: يا محمد! عش ما شئت فإنك ميت وأحبب من شئت فإنك مفارقه واعمل ما شئت فإنك مجزي به واعلم أن شرف المؤمن قيامه بالليل وعزه استغناؤه عن الناس»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Jibril came to me and said: O Muhammad! Live as long as you wish, for you must eventually die; love whomever you wish, for you must part from him; do whatever deeds you wish, for you will be recompensed for them. And know that the honour of the believer lies in standing (in prayer) at night, and his dignity lies in being independent of people."
