«إذا ضن الناس بالدينار والدرهم وتبايعوا بالعينة وتبعوا أذناب البقر وتركوا الجهاد في سبيل الله أدخل الله تعالى عليهم ذلا لا يرفعه عنهم حتى يراجعوا دينهم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When people become miserly with dinars and dirhams, trade through 'inah (a form of usury), follow the tails of cattle (that is, become absorbed in farming and worldly wealth) and abandon jihad in the path of Allah, Allah Almighty will bring upon them a humiliation that He will not lift from them until they return to their religion."
