«المكاتب يعتق بقدر ما أدى ويقام عليه الحد بقدر ما عتق منه ويرث بقدر ما عتق منه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A mukatab is freed in proportion to what he has paid; the prescribed punishment (hadd) will be applied to him in proportion to how much of him has been freed; and he will inherit in proportion to how much of him has been freed."
