«المسلمون تتكافأ دماؤهم يسعى بذمتهم أدناهم ويجير عليهم أقصاهم وهم يد على من سواهم يرد مشدهم على مضعفهم ومسرعهم على قاعدهم لا يقتل مؤمن بكافر ولا ذوعهد في عهده»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The blood of the Muslims is equal (in relation to one another). Even the lowest of them may grant protection (to someone), which is binding on all of them, and even the most distant of them may grant protection on their behalf. They are like one hand against others. The strong among them will return (the share) to their weak, and the swift to the one who stays behind. A believer is not to be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever, nor is one under a covenant to be killed during the term of his covenant."
