«المؤمنون تكافأ دماؤهم وهم يد على من سواهم ويسعى بذمتهم أدناهم ألا لا يقتل مؤمن بكافر ولا ذوعهد في عهده من أحدث حدثا فعلى نفسه ومن أحدث حدثا أو أوى محدثا فعليه لعنة الله والملائكة والناس أجمعين»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The blood of the believers is equal; they are one hand against those besides them, and even the lowest of them may grant protection on their behalf. Beware! A believer is not to be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever, nor one under a covenant during the term of his covenant. Whoever commits a crime, it is upon himself; and whoever commits a crime or shelters a criminal, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels and all the people."
