«من قال: سبحان الله وبحمده سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك أشهد أن لا إله إلا أنت أستغفرك وأتوب إليك فإن قالها في مجلس ذكر كانت كالطابع يطبع عليه ومن قالها في مجلس لغوكانت كفارة له»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever says: 'Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika, ashhadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk' (Glory be to Allah and with His praise; glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise; I bear witness that there is no true god except You; I seek Your forgiveness and I turn to You in repentance): if he says it in a gathering of remembrance, it is as though a seal is set upon it, and if he says it in a gathering of idle talk, it becomes an expiation for him."
