«من سرق فوجد سرقته عند رجل غير متهم فإن شاء أخذها بالقيمة وإن شاء اتبع صاحبه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever has something stolen and finds his stolen property with a man who is not suspected of theft, then if he wishes he may take it by paying its price, and if he wishes he may pursue the original thief."
