«إذا رميت بالمعراض الصيد فخرق فكله وإن أصابه بعرضه فلا تأكله فإنه وقيذ»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When you throw the mi'rad (a sharp-edged stick or an arrow without an arrowhead) at game and it pierces it (with its edge), eat it; but if it strikes it with its broad side (or blunt part), do not eat it, for it has died from a blow (and is carrion)."
