«ما كان منها في طريق الميتاء والقرية الجامعة فعرفها سنة فإن جاء طالبها فادفعها إليه وإن لم يأت فهي لك وما كان في الخراب ففيها وفي الركاز الخمس»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whatever lost item is found on a public road or in an inhabited town, announce it for one year; then if its owner comes, give it to him, and if he does not come, it is yours. And whatever is found in a ruin, then in it and in buried treasure (rikaz) there is one-fifth."
