«كان إذا رفعت مائدته قال: الحمد لله حمدا كثيرا طيبا مباركا فيه الحمد لله الذي كفانا وأوانا غير مكفي ولا مكفور ولا مودع ولا مستغنى عنه ربنا»
It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"When his (peace and blessings be upon him) dining cloth was lifted, he would say: 'Alhamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fih, alhamdu lillahil-ladhi kafana wa awana, ghayra makfiyyin wa la makfurin wa la muwadda'in wa la mustaghnan 'anhu, Rabbana' (Abundant, pure and blessed praise is for Allah; all praise is for Allah who has sufficed us and given us shelter; praise that is never enough, never denied, never abandoned, and never to be dispensed with, O our Lord)."
