«إذا جاء رمضان فصم ثلاثين إلا أن ترى الهلال قبل ذلك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When the month of Ramadan comes, fast thirty days, unless you see the (Shawwal) crescent moon before that."
