Sahih al-Jami al-Saghir 459 — When one of you comes to the prayer, let

"إذا جاء أحدكم إلى الصلاة فليمش على هينة
فليصل ما أدرك وليقض ما سبقه"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When one of you comes to the prayer, let him walk calmly and gently; let him pray whatever part he catches and complete (afterwards) whatever has passed him."
