«إذا توضأ أحدكم فأحسن الوضوء ثم خرج إلى الصلاة لم يرفع قدمه اليمنى إلا كتب الله عز وجل له حسنة ولم يضع قدمه اليسرى إلا حط الله عنه سيئة فليقرب أحدكم أو ليبعد فإن أتي المسجد فصلى في جماعة غفر له فإن أتي المسجد وقد صلوا بعضا وبقي بعض صلى ما أدرك وأتم ما بقي فإن أتي المسجد وقد صلوا فأتم الصلاة كان كذلك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When one of you performs ablution and does it very well, then goes out for the prayer, he does not lift his right foot except that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, writes a good deed for him, and he does not put down his left foot except that Allah Almighty wipes away one of his sins. So let any of you live near (the mosque) or come from far away, as he wishes. Then, if he comes to the mosque and prays in congregation, he is forgiven. If he comes to the mosque when the people have prayed part of the prayer and part of it remains, let him pray the remaining part with them and complete (afterwards) what he missed. And if he comes to the mosque when the people have already prayed, and he completes his prayer on his own, he will still receive the same (reward of the congregation)."
