«إذا تزوج البكر على الثيب أقام عندها سبعا وإذا تزوج الثيب على البكر أقام عندها ثلاثا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When a man marries a virgin while he already has a previously married woman (as wife), he should stay with her (the virgin) for seven days; and when he marries a previously married woman while he has a virgin (as wife), he should stay with her for three days."
