«الغلام مرتهن بعقيقته تذبح عنه يوم السابع ويسمى ويحلق رأسه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A boy is held in pledge for his aqiqah. An animal is slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, he is given a name and his head is shaved."
