«إذا أوى أحدكم إلى فراشه فلينفضه بداخلة إزاره فإنه لا يدري ما خلفه عليه ثم ليضطجع على شقه الأيمن ثم ليقل: باسمك ربي وضعت جنبي وبك أرفعه إن أمسكت نفسي فارحمها وإن أرسلتها فاحفظها بما تحفظ به عبادك الصالحين»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When one of you goes to his bed, let him dust it off with the inner edge of his lower garment (izar), for he does not know what may have come onto it (the bed) after he left it. Then let him lie on his right side and recite this supplication: Bismika rabbi wada'tu janbi wa bika arfa'uhu, in amsakta nafsi farhamha, wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi 'ibadaka as-salihin (O my Lord, in Your name I have laid down my side, and by Your name I shall raise it up. If You take my soul, then have mercy on it, and if You release it, then protect it as You protect Your righteous servants)."
