«إذا انقطع شسع أحدكم فلا يمش في نعل واحدة حتى يصلح شسعه ولا يمشي في خف واحد ولا يأكل بشماله ولا يحتب بالثوب الواحد ولا يلتحف الصماء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When the strap of one of you breaks, let him not walk in one sandal until he has mended his strap; and let him not walk in one leather sock (khuff), nor eat with his left hand, nor sit with his knees drawn up wrapped in a single garment (ihtiba'), nor wrap himself in the manner of as-samma' (a garment wrapped so that there is no opening for the hands to come out)."
