«على كل مسلم صدقة فإن لم يجد فيعمل بيده فينفع نفسه ويتصدق فإن لم يستطع فيعين ذا الحاجة الملهوف فإن لم يفعل فيأمر بالخير فإن لم يفعل فيمسك عن الشر فإنه له صدقة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Upon every Muslim there is charity. If he finds nothing, let him work with his hand, benefit himself and give charity. If he is not able to, let him help someone in need who is in distress. If he cannot do this either, let him enjoin good. And if he does not do this either, let him refrain from evil, for that too is charity for him."
