«صلاة الليل مثنى مثنى فإذا خشي أحدكم الصبح صلى ركعة واحدة توتر له ما قد صلى»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The night prayer is two units at a time. So when any one of you fears the arrival of dawn, let him pray one unit; it will make what he has already prayed odd (witr)."
