«الشفعة في كل شرك في الأرض أو ربع أو حائط لا يصلح له أن يبيع حتى يعرض على شريكه فيأخذ أو يدع فإن أبي فشريكه أحق به حتى يؤذنه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Pre-emption (shuf'ah) applies to everything jointly owned, whether land, a house or an orchard. It is not right for a partner to sell (his share) until he offers it to his partner, who may then take it or leave it. And if he sold it without informing him, his partner has more right to it until he is informed."
