«إذا أفاد أحدكم امرأة أو خادما أو دابة فليأخذ بناصيتها وليدع بالبركة وليقل: اللهم إني أسألك من خيرها وخير ما جبلت عليه وأعوذ بك من شرها وشر ما جبلت عليه وإن كان بعيرا فليأخذ بذروة سنامه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When any of you acquires a woman (as a wife), a servant or a riding animal, he should take hold of her forelock, pray for blessing, and say: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min khayriha wa khayri ma jubilat 'alayhi, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jubilat 'alayhi' (O Allah, I ask You for her good and the good of the nature upon which she has been created, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of the nature upon which she has been created). And if it is a camel, he should take hold of the top of its hump."
